Gold (18K-750/1000)
Hallmark : Vulture with outstretched wings (Egyptian)
Gemstones: Pear-shaped emeralds (×7), brilliant-cut diamonds, cultured pearls
Total weight 20,20 gr
Unsigned, in a Kessaris case
Period: 20th century

Exquisite pendant in openwork white gold featuring a refined fishnet design of remarkable craftsmanship. The upper section displays an elegant scrollwork motif set with brilliant-cut diamonds, from which cascades a delicate lattice structure in the shape of an inverted triangle.
The geometric mesh is punctuated with lustrous cultured pearls at each junction, creating a harmonious rhythm throughout the composition. Seven pear-shaped emeralds of vivid green colour adorn the edges and terminate the piece, their organic forms contrasting beautifully with the architectural precision of the goldwork.

A central diamond-set bow motif adds a touch of Belle Époque elegance to the design, while additional pearls frame the upper volutes.

The pendant is suspended from a white gold curb chain and bears the Egyptian hallmark (vulture with outstretched wings), indicating 18-karat gold.

The piece is presented in its Kessaris box; however, it bears no maker's signature on the jewel itself. While the quality of execution is consistent with the standards of this prestigious Greek house, the attribution to Kessaris cannot be confirmed with certainty.

About the Hallmark
The vulture with outstretched wings accompanied by the number 750 is the Egyptian hallmark for 18-karat gold (750/1000 fineness), used since 1916. The vulture represents Nekhbet, the protective goddess of Upper Egypt and the pharaohs — a powerful symbol of authenticity and state guarantee.
This mark indicates that the piece was either made in Egypt or imported and assayed there by the Egyptian assay office. The presence of this hallmark is particularly significant given that the piece is presented in a Kessaris case: the prestigious Greek jewellery house was founded in Alexandria, Egypt, in 1924 by the Kessaris family, and maintained workshops and boutiques there for decades. This Egyptian provenance strongly supports a connection to Kessaris, even in the absence of a maker's signature on the jewel itself.
This Egyptian hallmark is relatively rare on the European market, adding to the interest and distinguished provenance of the piece.

Kessaris is a prestigious Greek jewellery house founded in 1924 in Alexandria, Egypt, by the Kessaris family. The maison established itself as one of the leading jewellers of the Eastern Mediterranean, serving an elite international clientele. Today, Kessaris operates flagship boutiques in Athens, Mykonos, and other prestigious locations, and is renowned for both its own high jewellery creations and its curated selection of exceptional vintage pieces.
While this pendant is presented in a Kessaris case, the absence of a maker's mark on the jewel itself means it may have been acquired, restored, or retailed by the house rather than created in their workshops.

Condition: The pendant is in very good overall condition. The gold mesh structure is intact, the emeralds display good colour saturation, and the pearls retain their lustre. The diamonds are securely set and show appropriate brilliance. Minor signs of wear consistent with age may be present upon close inspection. Original Kessaris case included.
